This project consists of a musical performance where two improvised chamber music musicians - Carlos “Zíngaro“ and João Pedro Viegas - played together, three metres away from each other, but separated by soundproofing walls. Because of it, despite being three metres apart, they had to perform as if they sat fifteen metres away from one another which makes the “dialogue” incredibly challenging.

Both of their perspectives were recorded and filmed. The project developed into an installation and an album with two CD’s, which contain each perspective, alongside instructions on how to re-create the installation.

In this installation, the observer is invited to mix the sound of both musicians by walking the stretched soundscape in which three meters feel like fifteen.

(Press play and drag the person to walk through the soundscape. If you are on a mobile phone, press the arrows instead).
